A plain-language account of birth inputs, astronomical positions, and traditional conventions.

How Nakshatra calculates your chart

AI-assisted educational draft for Nakshatra. Not independently reviewed by a human astrologer.

Begin with time and place

The chart pipeline takes your birth date, local time, coordinates, and timezone. It converts the local time to a universal time before computing positions. Incorrect inputs can produce a consistently calculated chart for the wrong moment; calculation precision cannot repair missing birth information.

Calculate positions, then apply conventions

The installed calculation dependency is Astronomy Engine, which computes astronomical positions. The code can also use an optional Swiss Ephemeris installation. Nakshatra applies Lahiri ayanamsa for sidereal positions, uses mean lunar nodes, and assigns whole-sign houses from the rising sign. A dependency’s accuracy target does not certify this entire pipeline.

Keep interpretation separate

Planetary coordinates and period dates are calculations under particular settings. Meanings attached to them belong to an astrological tradition, and Jyoti’s wording is AI generated. Accurate astronomy does not establish astrology as a reliable way to predict individual life events.
